From April 13th 2020 the Cathedral of Siena will open to the public at 10 am instead of 10.30 a.m.

Since 1st March 2018 visitors will be able to choose from the following three tours: admission to the Cathedral and Piccolomini Library; the OPA Si Pass tour, including Beneath the Cathedral - Paths of Light with 3D videomapping; and the Gate of Heaven tour, which entitles the holder to visit the Cathedral roof and wich will now include also the Opa Si Pass tour.
Almost a year has gone by since the Opera del Duomo di Siena and Santa Maria della Scala took in and "hospitalised" the works of art damaged in the earthquake in Norcia and its hinterland.
The pulpit that Nicola Pisano carved for Siena Cathedral with his son Giovanni's assistance between 1265 and 1268 has been undergoing restoration since September 2016.
